“Dear Artificial Intelligence
In day-to-day activities even I need your assistance
Please don’t replace my existence
I will give you humanly guidance”– a fitness trainer
Apps that combine machine learning, body posture tracking, and image recognition have brought noticeable changes in the fitness industry.
Wether it’s Sensilk, a fabric embedded with trackers which gives signals to correct the stature, or HidrateSpark 3, a water bottle which vibrates and blinks light to remind you to drink water, fitness coaches are, as if, led astray by these apps.
But wait, there’s a hope.
Aaptiv, which launched a new service called Aaptiv Coach, an AI based assistant which makes customised fitness plans based on user’s objective, current diet plan, and inputs from fitness tracking devices, is a relief for personal coaches. Ethan Agarwal is the founder and CEO of Aaptiv. He told Tech Crunch that they are not going to replace coaches with AI, rather they will create a platform for coaches.
Here’s how it works. Coaches will give users training program using Aaptiv’s in-built workout list, diet programs and video consulting. My opinion is, coaches can market themselves to AI fitness startups. They can create their portfolio of their past experience and work as freelancers for these platforms. They have an opportunity to partner with startups or file a patent for their unique program. They can make money either by selling the patent or by giving it as a royalty. What do you think about it?
Opportunity are found in adversities.
