Best website hosting platform in 2020

We have compared 2 website hosting platforms based on their performance in 2020. Study has been conducted based on internet research.

Our objective is to help you make a good decision.

HostGator was one of the biggest and oldest web hosting firms in the industry, but they’re not making improvements, posting an average uptime of 97.98% over the past 16 months.

Their basic shared hosting plans come with unlimited storage, bandwidth, free domain (for the first year), and a free SSL certificate. Unfortunately, their customer service performance has decreased. Hostgator focused a lot on marketing and branding, which got them many customers. But customer service staff members felt the burden to manage growing customers, which affected the company’s overall reputation.

Average page loading time of 1171ms started their downfall. Other extra services of backups and security are charged under additional fees. Besides, the renewal rates rise cumulatively after your annual term expires.

Last 16-month average uptime and speed:

  • Ease of Signup: Easy signup process.
  • Payment Methods: Credit Card, PayPal.
  • Hidden Fees and Clauses: Introductory pricing is only available for long-term plan purchases. Renewal rates will also more than double. Extra services, like backups and malware monitoring, are all extra fees, too.
  • Upsells: Lots of upsells.
  • Account Activation: It can take up to 24 – 48 hours to activate your account.
  • Control Panel and Dashboard Experience: cPanel.
  • Installation of Apps and CMSs (WordPress, Joomla, etc.): They make it easy to install popular apps and CMSs in a few steps using QuickInstall.

Do We Recommend HostGator?

Not really, unless you are living in 2019. The uptime has fallen over the past year or so. The customer service is good. And the array of beginner-friendly options make it user-friendly.

However, a combo of the slow speed and extra pricing hikes makes it very expensive to be considered a decent value.

You can check for details.

P.S. Have you used HostGator before? Please consider leaving a review below — good or bad — doesn’t really matter as long it’s helpful to our visitors. Thanks for your support.

Interserver has been offering low cost webhosting and VPS soultions. It has been posting an average uptime of 99.62% over the past 16 months.

Interserve provides unlimited storage, bandwidth, free domain (for the first year), and a free SSL certificate. Their customer service is above average and replies promptly 8/10 times, which is slightly better than Hostgator. Interserver has focused less on marketing and branding, which got them many customers from word-of-mouth publicity.

Page loading time of 1192ms on average is interserve’s unique selling proposition. Certain plugins are charged. Besides, the renewal rates is constant and not automatic. User can manually pay next month’s fee. It is completely based on user’s satisfaction from the service. Click here to check the plan

Here’s a short video about my experience.

My 2 year experience of using Interserver

Hi there! I am a health-tech blogger, an average book reader, food and nutrition enthusiast, and sales professional. Copywriting is the think that drives me. I can make the print on 'Buy' button fade away. No matter whether you are seller, buyer, performer, affiliate marketer, Amazon seller or an astronaut, you need to advertise with persuasion to make money. Power in words and their structuring can do wonders to make your inventory empty. 'Show me your library, and I will tell you what kind of person you are' is damn true. Books give you direction to your final goal. I read atleast 3-4 books per year. I'm here only because of the books. What is the purpose of daily life without proper food and nutrition? Health is wealth. Steve Jobs said that 'What is the use to be the richest person in coffin?'. Nobody wants to spend earned money in hospital bills. I make valuable content to food habits. I'm a rockstar on Quora! I love the art of advertising. I am creating a personal brand, you can check my IG. I have 2 years of sales experience. I sold fruit syrups to retailers, fruit juice at kiosk, mobile applications and softwares to hospitals, medicines to doctors and pharmacies and, Point of Sales machine to merchants. Sales taught me customer mindset, objection handling and most important, facing rejection. I had seen bad days and good days. Those days were worth my struggle. I will share my genuine opinions on health-tech industry.
